Funkmaster Flex offered up some unreleased Tupac that leaked this weekend. Check it out.
Founding Roc-A-Fella Records member Kareem "Biggs" Burke was arrested today (October 15th) with 42 other people in a ring that allegedly controlled the marijuana market in New York City.
According to The New York Daily News, Burke has been a part of the ring since 1992. Federal prosecutors claim that Burke was part of a network that was headed up by Geovanny (Manny) Rodriguez Perez aka "Shorty."
Police accused Shorty's network of growing the pot down south, shipping it up north in tractor trailers and returning the proceeds to South Florida, according to Jim Hayes, a special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations For Immigration and Customs Enforcement
.
Police arrested Burke at his home in North Bergen, N.J. In addition to Burke, an advertising executive for High Times named Matthew Stang was arrested in an 18 month operation, which was dubbed "Operation Green Venom."
Agents confiscated $1 million in drug profits and 177 pounds of marijuana from the suspects as well.
"This isn't just a group that controlled one block, one neighborhood," Hayes said. "They dominated the wholesale marijuana market in New York for 20 years."
Burke helped co-found Roc-A-Fella Records in 1996 with Jay-Z and Damon Dash, after the pair had been turned down by several record labels.
They landed a distribution deal with Priority Records and released Jay-Z's classic debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
Kareem "Biggs" Burke and the others face 10 years to life in prison for allegedly distributing over 1,000 kilos of the drug.
Peruvian President Alan Garcia has denied slapping a young man who insulted him when he visited a hospital last weekend.
The alleged victim says he was struck by the president and then beaten up by his bodyguards after he called Mr Garcia corrupt.
Mr Garcia initially denied the incident had taken place.
He then said he had responded indignantly when insulted, but had not hit the man.
The incident has caused considerable controversy in Peru, where insulting the head of state is an offence.
President Garcia was visiting Edgardo Rebagliati hospital in Lima with his daughter last Saturday when the confrontation took place.
Richard Galvez, 27, a volunteer worker at the hospital, says he shouted "corrupt" at Mr Garcia when he saw him pass by.
Mr Galvez alleges the president turned on him and struck him in the face.
He further alleges he was then beaten by some of Mr Garcia's security guards, while other hospital workers and patients shouted in protest.
The incident was widely reported in Peruvian newspapers, quoting witnesses.
Indignation
President Garcia initially denied there had been a confrontation.
He later said he had responded with a gesture and told Mr Galvez to "Go to hell" after he was insulted, but had not hit the man.
And he said he was right to be indignant.
"Nobody shows me disrespect, much less to the president, and much less in front of my daughter or mother", he said.
"It is impossible that someone calls you 'corrupt' to your face and you stay silent in front of your daughter".
Another man later came forward and said it was he, and not the president, who struck the volunteer, saying he was enraged at hearing insults directed at the president's mother.
It is not the first time Mr Garcia has been accused of lashing out in public, says the BBC's Dan Collyns in Lima.
In 2004 he is alleged to have kicked a man with mental health problems who passed in front of him as he took part in a protest march.
The beer is placed inside a pocket of salty, pretzel-like dough and then dunked in oil at 375 degrees for about 20 seconds, a short enough time for the confection to remain alcoholic.
When diners take a bite the hot beer mixes with the dough in what is claimed to be a delicious taste sensation.
Inventor Mark Zable said it had taken him three years to come up with the cooking method and a patent for the process is pending. He declined to say whether any special ingredients were involved.
His deep-fried beer will be officially unveiled in a fried food competition at the Texas state fair later this month.
Five ravioli-like pieces will sell for $5 (£3) and the Texas Alcoholic Commission has already ruled that people must be aged over 21 to try it.
Mr Zable has so far been deep frying Guinness but said he may switch to a pale ale in future.
He said: "Nobody has been able to fry a liquid before. It tastes like you took a bite of hot pretzel dough and then took a drink of beer." Mr Zable previously invented dishes including chocolate-covered strawberry waffle balls and jalapeño corndog shrimps.
Last year's winner of the Texas state fair fried food competition was a recipe for deep-fried butter.
Twista let's cameras into his world to chronicle his life and work.
Mr. Immortality: The Life and Times of Twista, a new film directed by Vlad Yudin, will, as its title suggests, take as its subject the record breaking Chicago emcee. The movie, set to be released by EMI on December 7th of this year, will document Twista?s career from its outset and over the course of its run-time pay particular attention to the way in which the Windy City has inspired the rapper, paralleling the rappers progress with that of the city that birthed him.
Guest appearances are included from such luminaries as The-Dream, Ne-Yo, Scott Storch, and more. While the film will of course focus on Twista?s career highlights, such as his work with Jay-Z and Kanye West, it also takes an in-depth look at the man behind the speedster flow, promising insights into the man that fans have not previously been privileged to.
Before the film debuts Twista has another big release planned. His long awaited new album, The Perfect Storm, will be released on November 9th through EMI/Capitol Records.
Rap star 50 Cent may have the title of "Godfather" bestowed upon him, should he take up a South African Community group's offer to adopt a rhinoceros.
A community policing group called eBlockwatch is calling upon 50 Cent to become "Godfather" to a black rhino that was shot nine times by poachers.
The black rhino, named Phila, had already survived two poaching attacks earlier in the year, prompting the organization to make the bizarre offer to 50 Cent.
"We want to ask him if he wants to become the godfather of our rhino so that he can create awareness worldwide about rhino poaching," said Andre Snyman of eBlockwatch.
According to Snyman, he hopes that 50 Cent will adopt the rhino, which will be renamed "One Pound."
50 Cent is not one who allows businesses to exploit his image or likeness.
In July of 2007, the rapper successfully sued a company called Traffix for $1 million, after the company created a "shoot the rapper" banner advertisement game featuring an image with characteristics similar to 50 Cent.
In November of 2009, 50 Cent and Taco Bell settled a dispute, after the fast-food chain illegally exploited his name in the media, by connecting him to a nationwide promotional campaign that asked him to change his name to .79, .89 or .99 cent.

Subject: PUT MY SH*T OUT!
Peace to all,
With all do respect to you all, Nas is NOBODY's slave. This is not the 1800′s, respect me and I will respect you.
I won't even tap dance around in an email, I will get right into it. People connect to the Artist @ the end of the day, they don't connect with the executives. Honestly, nobody even cares what label puts out a great record, they care about who recorded it. Yet time and time again its the executives who always stand in the way of a creative artist's dream and aspirations. You don't help draw the truth from my deepest and most inner soul, you don't even do a great job @ selling it. The #1 problem with DEF JAM is pretty simple and obvious, the executives think they are the stars. You aren't.... not even close. As a matter of fact, you wish you were, but it didn't work out so you took a desk job. To the consumer, I COME FIRST. Stop trying to deprive them! I have a fan base that dies for my music and a RAP label that doesn't understand RAP. Pretty fucked up situation
This isn't the 90′s though. Beefing with record labels is so 15 years ago. @ this point I just need you all to be very clear where I stand and how I feel about "my label." I could go on twitter or hot 97 tomorrow and get 100,000 protesters @ your building but I choose to walk my own path my own way because since day one I have been my own man. I did business with Tommy Mottola and Donnie Einer, two of the most psycho dudes this business ever created. I worked well with them for one major reason....... they believed in me. The didn't give a f**k about what any radio station or magazine said....those dudes had me.
Lost Tapes is a movement and a very important set up piece for my career as it stands. I started this over 5 years ago @ Columbia and nobody knew what it was or what it did but the label put it out as an LP and the fans went crazy for it and I single handlely built a new brand of rap albums. It's smart and after 5 years it's still a head of the game. This feels great and you not feeling what I'm feeling is disturbing. Don't get in the way of my creativity. We are aligned with the stars here, this is a movement. There is a thing called KARMA that comes to haunt you when you tamper with the aligning stars. WE ARE GIVING THE PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Stop throwing dog s**ton a MAGICAL moment.
You don't get another Nas recording that doesn't count against my deal....PERIOD! Keep your bulls**t $200,000.00 fund. Open the REAL budget. This is a New York pioneers ALBUM, there ain't many of us. I am ready to drop in the 4th quarter. You don't even have s**tcoming out! Stop being your own worst enemy. Let's get money!

Tech talks about his time in Afghanistan, and investing his money in land in South America
Since his acclaimed 2008 album The Third World Immortal Technique has been under the radar. The Harlem rapper by way of Peru has certainly been busy though. HardknockTV caught up with Tech, where he talked about his recent activity and his upcoming albums.
"I went out to Afghanistan in order to solidify and complete the project, the green light project, of building a school and orphanage there with the money I raised through a series of shows and as a percentage of The Third World Album," Tech said when asked where he's been in the past two years.
"Besides that, I also travelled down to Colombia and Peru. Where I began a small part of development on the land that I purchased," said Tech, rather than buying cars or jewelry like other rappers or listening to the banks' advice. "I bought a huge farm about half the size of central park, I can do whatever I want, I grow whatever I want on it. If I had invested in these ridiculous little plans that the bank suggested for me, I'd probably have 60% of the money I have now instead of having triple the income and being able to provide sustenance for people."
David Fincher?s The Social Network, destined to be in the thick of Oscar talk this year, dominated the box office this first weekend in October, taking in $23 million from 2,771 locations. The PG-13 rated movie depicting the controversial founding of Facebook was met with an almost completely positive response from critics, and now adds a B+ from audiences, according to exit pollster CinemaScore. While expectations had placed the film starring Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield in a zone similar to The Departed, or around $27 million for its opening frame, the film?s positive word of mouth should bolster its performance in coming weeks, when it can be expected to draw in more male and younger audiences and approach The Departed?s total domestic gross of $132 million.
The other two new wide releases, horror films Let Me In and Case 39, did not connect nearly as well with moviegoers. Let Me In, a new take on the Swedish film Let the Right One In, scored brilliantly with critics, but opened to just $5.3 million, landing it in seventh place for the weekend. Audiences were less enthusiastic, giving the film directed by J.J. Abrams protege Matt Reeves (Cloverfield), who recently met with Christopher Nolan about Superman, a C+, according to CinemaScore. Case 39, which stars real-life couple Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper and had sat on the shelf at Paramount for some time, was just a hair behind in eighth place, also with an estimated $5.3 million, and actually a better B- score from audiences, according to CinemaScore.
Turns out being the only kid flick at the multiplex can be a hoot, as Zack Snyder?s Legend of the Guardians scored a surprisingly good hold to finish at No. 2 in its second weekend. The Owl movie fell only 33 percent for a haul of $10.9 million, raising its cume to $30 million. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps had a steeper drop-off due to the competition from Social Network. The Oliver Stone-directed flick fell 47 percent to $10.1 million. Its cume now stands at $35.9 million for its first ten days in release.
The Town continues to impress. The Boston-set heist drama directed by Ben Affleck dipped only 36 percent in its third weekend in theaters. With another $10 million in the bank, the Jeremy Renner, Jon Hamm-starrer has now grossed $64.3 million. Easy A is also holding strong. Falling only 34 percent its third weekend in theaters, the Emma Stone-starrer grossed an estimated $7 million for a new cume of $42.4 million.
You Again also held in surprisingly well in its second week following a lackluster debut. It brought in $5.6 million this weekend to finish sixth, a decline of only 34 percent, giving it a new ten-day cume of $16.4 million. Following the two horror newcomers, the ninth slot went to Devil, which grossed $3.7 million. The film from producer M.Night Shyamalan has now earned $27.4 million after three weekends in release. Alpha and Omega landed in tenth place with an estimated $3 million added to its total. The 3-D animated flick from Lionsgate has grossed $19 million after three weeks.
In limited release, Paramount expanded Davis Guggenheim?s public-school indictment Waiting for Superman to 34 locations for a three-day box office of $407,000 and a total two-week gross of $600,000. Catfish also expanded to 136 theaters this weekend. The documentary that depicts today?s world of social networking grossed $607,000 for a cume of $1.6 million.
Check back next weekend when the Katherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel-starrer Life As We Know It opens opposite Diane Lane?s Secretariat.
